In this video, we're going to take you through and show you how to search for a stock symbol. Let's say that we know the name of the company, but we don't know the stock symbol.

If we come into the Charts tab and, in the "Enter Symbol Here" field, we just type in the company name—so we're going to type in "apple," A-P-P-L-E—that is certainly not the symbol for Apple. We hit "Open Symbol," and what happens is it says, "That's not a symbol," and automatically pulls up the search. It comes in and says "Apple" and gives you the list.

Of course, there are a number of different companies that have "Apple" in their name, so it lists all of them. You pick the one that you want, double-click it, and it's going to open up that chart.
